Facebook for Investor

F

Note: This feature has since been removed due to low usage.

We all have a limited amount of time. Are you spending that time wisely? And are you spending more time than you should be scrolling through Facebook? I am 🙁

In an attempt to change that, I thought that if I’m going to scroll through something on my phone, I might as well be scrolling through information on companies that I have invested or are about to invest in.

Hence, over the weekend, I added a new feature in SGXcafe that mimics social networks’ popular feed system. However, instead of populating it with cat videos, It will be populated with company information instead.

For logged in users, information like latest news, upcoming dividends, and announcement releases for companies that you have in your portfolio or watchlist will be shown in your feed as SGXcafe receives them.

For non-logged in users, trending news and stocks (by volume) will be shown for now. Hmmm… perhaps I should also add market information like STI and ES3 for all users, logged in or otherwise.

As usual, this is only the initial version that I managed to code over the weekend. I will continue to improve this feature in the coming days. I am looking forward to your feedback on how it can help you better.

Happy investing!
