Regularly, I would receive requests asking, “When will StocksCafe include XXX?”. They are typically other exchanges like London Stock Exchange or Australia Stock Exchange. Occasionally, it would be about commodities or other assets such as insurance, mutual funds, etc.
Ideally, StocksCafe would be able to include at least all major exchanges, commodities, and funds in the future. However, I am not sure when that will happen, if it happens at all. And even then, StocksCafe cannot realistically include every single asset that exists in the world.
Hence, I decided to work around it and support all possible assets in another way – DIY style.
It only takes a few simple steps to add any asset to your account:
1) Define the asset – Define a new asset on this page.
2) Input transactions – Input transactions that you have performed with the new asset on this page (e.g. when you buy/sell).
3) Input payments received – Input payments you received from this asset on this page (e.g. dividends, interest, rental, etc).
Bonus: Update the market value – You can also update the market value of your asset over time by going to the individual asset page and clicking on “Add new price”. To reach an individual asset page, you can start from the list of assets page and clicking on the asset name.
I hope that with this new feature, you can now track all your assets using StocksCafe!
As always, I am more than happy to receive questions and suggestions.
